In 1985 LIFE BY NIGHT released their first and sole self-titled album considered today as a High Tech AOR classic by collectors around the world. In 1986 Tom Croucier, Gene Black (Device), Pat Regan & Mark Nelson joined force again to record a new album that was unfortunately shelved by the record company 35 years ago. This never released CD finally sees the light of day in 2021 thanks to the impulsion of Escape Music. The High Tech AOR style of the 1st album have left place for a more mature sound, more polish and more guitar oriented. The keyboards are still there of course but more in a "Journey - Stan Bush" style than classic High Tech AOR productions of the 80's. The songwriting is excellent and there is not a single "filler" among the 12 tracks presented here. The vocals are top class, including the backing vocals reminiscent of bands such as Boston, Think Out Loud or Bridge 2 Far. Of course this album is far from classic Melodic Rock due to many pop elements included in the arrangements, but the quality of the songs is so incredible that "Glass Walls" should appeal to many fans from the soft Melodic Rock Side to more traditional AOR lovers. If You like artists such as Robert Tepper, Jean Beauvoir, Toy Matinee (Kevin Gilbert), Jack Wagner, John Warren or even the 3 firsts Stan Bush , you won't be disappointed by this must-have album in your collection, limited to 1000 copies worldwide and numbered. The production is tight and sounds clear, the guitar solos are sharp, the lyrics appealing, and even the cover is cool, so what more could you ask for? My favorite tracks are: “Anything Can Happen”, “Give Me One More Night”, “I Was That Man”, “Bridge Of Love”, but the whole album is as good and worth buying.
